Getting a self-published book reviewed where it counts
Join this discussion on Critical Mass, the blog of the National Book Critics Circle board of directors. The question on the table is how to bring independently published books to the attention of major book critics. I’ve thrown in my tuppence-worth. It would be good to see other points of view, and Critical Mass seems like the right venue to raise the issue.

I totally agree with your terminology of Indie Publishing vs. sloppy Vanity Presses. As someone embarking on the tough road of Indie Publishing, I'm glad I found someone in the industry who speaks out for the little guys who are learning how to put on gloves even before the fights in the big publishing/review rings... Looking forward to digging into what you've written here on your blog.
After all, my group is just in the learning stage...
